capability item, relax depends on your personal preference : Dream Essentials Escape Luxury Travel and Sleep Mask with Earplugs and Carry Pouch, Black

I work 3 nights a week and after practically 6 years, it's still difficult for me to sleep while the day. Other masks that I have tried always let light in and half the time I wake up with it on my forehead. This mask is the most perfect mask I have ever used! I get total darkness without it pressing against my eyelids. The first time I wore it, it was still on my face when I woke up!! I extremely propose this mask!!

Customer Review :

Great sleep mask : Tempur-Pedic Sleep Mask

I purchased the Tempur-Pedic after reading the reviews here as well as for the Revolutionary, Patented Sleep devotee Sleep Mask and the Mindfold Black out Sleeping Mask.

Of the three, this one works best for me in blocking external light, but it is not quite as comfortable as the Sleep Master. It also worked good for side-lying positions or leaning against an airline window than the Mindfold. I rotate between them now depending on my single need at the time.

My goal for a sleep mask is to sustain in catching 1-2 more hours of good sleep in the summer months when early morning light starts streaming in about 5 Am through a window in my bedroom that is nearly impossible to adequately drape without undo financial expense. Otherwise I am a relatively easy sleeper. I don't expect to wear the mask through the whole night -- just slip it on if I am sleeping lightly or not at all in those final hours. I am most highly motivated to use it when work-related issues cut my available sleep options down to only 4-5 hours, and these are additional hampered by summer light. Thus my touch may be different than those who routinely need a full 8-hour mask.

I think that one of the most difficult issues in sleep masks is that having differently shaped faces is going to affect either we are personlaly satisfied or disappointed -- particularly if the anticipation is a total blackout of external light. Its hard to get something to fit well adequate without being uncomfortable and intruding on sleep yet still be able to provide ultimate "black out". Also, the longer we are exposed to low light, the more sensitive we will beocme to just a few stray photons.

This mask is pretty decent for comfort, even in a side-lying position or resting against an airline window. It occasionally causes some mild nasal obstruction or compression over my checkbones and pressure on the acupoint called Si-18 -- the latter can be rather uncomfortable but resolves rapidly with minuscule readjustment. To some extent I am also able to wear the Tempur-Pedic with eyes open, because the fabricate has more padding at the bottom and thereby lifts the fabric away from the eyelids. If I surely seriously want to stay awake, keep my eyes open, and minimize distractions from pressure and weight such as in meditation -- then the Mindfold seems to work good as long as I have the option to limit ambient lighting.

If I am sleeping and thus expect to have my eyes fulfilled, the leak is highly small even in enchanting light, and it is unnoticeable to me. If used for meditation, I do have to briefly shift positions a bit to optimize things, but I can normally get both easy breathing and pretty near total blackout. For persons who wear a mask for other purposes, such as simulated experiences of optic impairment, for holotropic breathwork sessions, or a migraine phase with photosensitivity in which faultless blackout might not be unnecessary, I think this model could work very nicely. However, for some migraine sufferers the extra weight and places of pressure may become irritating. (I have not had migraines for years so don't know when I will have chance to field test that application.)

Summary

What I liked best about the Tempur-Pedic was its good light blockage, some option for having my eyes open at least for short periods of time and pretty inexpensive though not great comfort. At the time of my buy it was the most expensive of the three and perhaps should be priced more appropriately. So far the weather conditions in which I've used it were moderate. But I do still wonder either it will become uncomfortable when combined with greater summer heat. I didn't rate it as a 5-star, because there was an additional one mask that was substantially more comfortable while my sleep (Revolutionary, Patented Sleep devotee Sleep Mask), and I wish this one could match it on that feature. Nonetheless, I surely use the Tempur-Pedic as often or more, because it doesn't block my hearing like the Sleep devotee does. normally the additional padding over the ears as employed by the Sleep devotee could be beneficial, but poses a qoute for me on the nights that I serve call at work.

Unfortunately, none of the masks I tried were completely satisfying for both ease and blackout, despite being on the higher end of the price range for this type of product. I presume it is sure that no single mask will optimally fit both men and women across all levels of fitness and facial contours. production more customer-specific masks may be possible, but these could then be harder to sell by mail when understandably there is a no-return-if-used course due to hygeine policies.

Customer Review :

Sleeping good : Bravo-Fit Heat Sensitive Memory Foam Sleep Mask

The stock is implied to be the sharper image memory foam sleep mask. It even was shipped in the box with sharper image's name on it. But about a year ago I purchased one of these masks from Sharper Image for my daughter. And when I received my order from this retailer I noticed a exiguous difference. So I took my items and compared them to the previously purchased mask. The items are close but not exact. These items are knock-offs copied from the former manufacture from Sharper Image. They work just as well so I did give them 4 stars. But these are not true sharper image masks. But for this price it is well worth it.. I purchased 2 of them which was still economy them the first one I bought even after shipping was added. So good stock but not a true Sharper Image item.

Helps Me Sleep : Aquasentials Slumber Spa Sleep Eye Mask

As far as a sleep mask goes, this is worthless. It hardly blocks any light (I can still see the light from my digital alarm clock with this on) and it is itchy and uncomfortable. Although the mask was cheap, it wasn't worth what I paid for it.

Also, when I first took it out of the container it had an awful chemical smell and needed to be aired out for any days before I could use it.

Customer Review :

The best, even with the reservations others have noted : Lights Out Contoured Sleeping Mask Black Out Sleep Eye Mask

This is a well made sleep mask. It features a wide elastic band that will not roll, and that is adjustable with a velcro closure. The eye cover part of the mask is a made of a molded foam material with space for the eyes to move while Rem sleep. The mask is lightweight and breathes well. It took a incorporate nights to get used to the feel. It was a microscopic uncomfortable in the nose initially, but I got used to the feeling of it and now find it very comfortable. I like the mask very much except for one thing: it lets light in too much light nearby the nose area. I've found one enterprise on the net that claims 100% light blockage with most of their sleep masks, so I am planning on trying one of those. I only paid $12 for this mask including shipping, but in the end I want a mask that blocks out all light.
